On my 2006 V70, the rear wiper stopped working. I got a new motor and that did not work. The fuse is OK. The original motor works when I apply power directly to it. I keep hearing about a relay and I can't find it. I also cannot find any listing for a rear wiper relay for a 2006 V70. So, 3 questions... Is there a rear wiper relay on a 2006 V70, where is it, and where can I get one (if I ultimately need it)? I have checked all of the wiring for any breaks in the suggested areas (hinge, etc...) and found nothing. I have not checked the ground because I don't know where it is.
Any ideas or answers? Thanks.

When my tailgate wiring started failing, it was not at all obvious when looking at the harness. I had to find the disconnect in the LH "D" pillar and then pull the harness completely out through the hinge cavity. The broken/shorted wires were inside the braided fabric conduit, with the conduit looking perfectly fine from the outside. I had to pull the conduit back like skinning a snake to find the failed wires.

The "clicking" sound I can hear is coming from somewhere near the fuse panel in the left rear cargo area. I can hear the intermittent "click" when I switch the wiper to the intermittent/delay function. Then I can go back to the rear area and try to search it out... But, no luck!
Again, everything else on the tailgate works and when I put power directly to the motor, it works. When I stop the power, the motor stops in place... but when I turn the key off and then on again, the rear motor parks in the correct place. My question again is... "Is there a relay somewhere for this rear wiper motor?... if so, where?

Yes there is a relay. I had this same problem on my 2001 V70 T5. If you can find the Volvo V70 electrical pdf, I can direct you to the relay. Unfortunately, I have a hardcopy but not the pdf. The relay can be found on page 138, diagram 2/72. From the top of the relay panel, it's the 2nd to the left (square box). As I recall, I had to remove the plastic molding on the side of the cargo panel to access that particular relay. The relay is similar to other relays, so you could just do a swap and see if it fixes your problem. I ended up going to the junk yard for some cheap spares, and it's functioned fine ever since I changed it out. Now that I recall, it took me forever to track the non-functioning rear wiper to the relay. Best of luck, but I'll bet that is your issue.

I will try to search it out tomorrow. I can't understand that every Volvo parts site I search comes up with no listing for a 2006 rear wiper relay! I will let you know if this works for me... and when I click on your photo to download and print... it rotates itself! More to come...

There is a fuse panel with REM or 'rear stuff' behind the trim plate on the left rear panel on your P2.
It looks like its controlled by the REM , not a relay.

First, You need to check fuse №19 in your Rear module. If it good and there is power on it, you need to check wire between F connector and motor. (contacts 1 and 6 - white and yellow wires). If fuse, power and wire are good, you need to repair or replace your REM.

Thanks for your site. Checked wiring continuity for rear wiper on 2005 volvo V70 D5. Turned out there was 5 wires severed at the tailgate hinge. Fortunately there was enough slack in the connecting loom to rejoin them with spade connectors and relocote the joints inside the protecting clipon at the hinge. Hope this last a few years.
This would probably explain the intermittant wiper parking. problem I had in the run up to total failure.
Just another note... If you have a 30728273 REM don't bother pulling your hair out trying to find the relay as this now seams to be an integral function of the REM.
Thanks again saved a big garage bill.

My 2004 V70 REAR wiper motor does NOT work at all (REAR washer motor works perfectly)...
- Checked youtube and removed REM fuse as in video below.
My fuel gauge was fine.
Removed the fuse as in the video for 30 min and reinserted it: no change, rear wiper motor still dead.
- Wiper stalk seems fine in the cockpit.
- For 2004 V70, rear wiper is Fuse #12 in the REM. There is 12V feed on the "fore" side (the side toward
the front of the car), Fuse #12 is 15A and is still good (checked with Ohmmeter for continuity).
- The REAR wiper relay for 2004 V70: does anyone know where it is located?
Thanks!
