What exactly is this temp gauge? Topic is solved

What is the temp display showing? Is it outside temp? And where is the sensor located?
It's on my 2000 s70 glt se lpt

Temp display shows outside temp. The sensor is located at the front of the vehicle down low, on the subframe.

On some of the later cars like my 2 x 2000 V70's it is mounted in the LH lower grill under the LH headlight:

: Outside temp sensor (1)

: Outside temp sensor (2)

Hope this is also of help. I believe I also saw it there on a 1998 V70 NA.

Thank you...When I rebuilt the front end I must of tucked the sensor wiring somewhere because I didn't see the sensor and didn't know what the plug was for...Makes sense thanks guys...When I bought the car it was salvaged so I replaced everything from radiator forwards...I got the whole front end done and it passed DMV salvage inspection everything works great other then the temp sensor and I'm not getting more then 3.6 psi boost tops ugh anyway thanks again I will look into it

Right on that's where mine was...Well the hole at least...I saw the electrical connector but I must of squished it behind the bumper when I put it all back together, guess I'll have a fun weekend of searching for that connector/temp sensor and hooking it up and of course finish replacing my vacuum lines! Thanks guys

Update....Got the wiring out and the connector with the sensor...It was on my passenger side...I disconnected it and reconnected it but I'm still not getting a temp reading..Is it a fused wire or do the sensors usually go bad

There are 2 temp sensors on the front of a turbo-car. The one on the RH side (passenger side of a North American car) is for engine temperature sensing and not for the internal temp gauge. The one for that is on the LHS as shown. Check again and in the position where rspi showed. The cable could be tucked up behind the LH headlight or somewhere in that area.
