What's the part name of this hose?

Post by dan777 »

Hello,
I have a 2006 V70 2.5T and I need to replace the vac. hose circled with red in the picture. Can anybody tell me the part name of this hose and/or the Volvo part number so I can order a new one? If is just a regular vacuum hose that you can cut to length, what's the internal diameter?
Thanks.

Our 2.5T car is 800 miles away right now so I don't have anything to look at. What's at the other end of that hose? Are there any tight (formed) turns along the way? If not, you can probably just use some bulk vacuum hose. Might be about 3/8" I.D. But that's a guesstimation. Pull the upper end loose and measure the nipple.

I don't know the name, it doesn't have one" but you need the approx 12" multi curved PCV hose that comes off the intake manifold
There is only one hose.
If your parts dept or anyone else you ask is stumped please ask me on Monday and I will give you the part number.

The new hose will look slightly different, it is new and improved so it does not split anymore.

Email me (in my signature at the bottom of every post of mine. It's also in bold it says "contact info for car purchases". About two lines down from this sentence).

I don't have a T5 engine, is this part of the PCV system per this diagram?
http://www.volvopartswebstore.com/showA ... egory=7072

The PCV system has to be connected to intake manifold at some point...

#6 but for your engine.

It can be done without removing the intake but it's tricky if you're not an expert mechanic.

If you have a 2006, why are you looking at parts for a 99 which is a 2.4T, similar but a DIFFERENT engine??

Just take it to a shop

#6 is the crankcase ventilation hose that goes from the top of the engine to the PCV box,
http://www.volvopartswebstore.com/produ ... 71654.html
but that's not what I need, I have that replaced already. By the way, for some reason the volvopartswebstore lists the PCV system under "Crankcase ventilation TURBO 1999- 5-Cylinder TURBO" even if you search for 2006 2.5T...

I believe that what I need is Part Number: 8250393 ; 9471663 (very expensive for a hose: $285....!?)
http://www.volvopartswebstore.com/produ ... 50393.html
It seems to be easy to replace,

on the other side, under the intake manifold, it has what it looks like a check valve and then another small hose that is connected to the vacuum T.

Thanks for your help.

I am curious how much the dealer here in Canada sells this for.

No
That's the large hose and what you're showng is not part of that. $285 must be in Canada!!! (there is a way around that but since you seemingly can't follow instructions ... to wait a day when the parts dept. is open).

Why are you arguing? #6 is the ONLY hose in that system that you can see and is the one you circled. All the other hoses are internal.
The large hose is NOT easy to install and is not visible outside the engine

I TOLD you what the hose is, #6 except for your engine not the earlier engine
I said I would give you the PN tomorrow, is that too impossible to wait another day?

You posted the part number OF THE INTAKE MANIFOLD! (whew), that's why it's $285!
The big hose is underneath and shows $180 or so which is correct but you don't need that hose.
Are you sure you replaced #6 as that IS what you circled.
Look above what you circled, that hose is the continuation of it, it's a short, multi curved hose.
If you think you already did #6, why is it circled in red?

I apologize for arguing, but the intake manifold is 9488034 and is $459 and the intake pipe is $285, see below.
Inlet manifold.jpg
Not sure if that's the pipe I need because it doesn't show any picture on the website.

JRL, of course I can wait until tomorrow and I thank you for that, I just want to clarify what I need because it seems that I wasn't clear.
The part #6 showed in that PCV diagram I believe is what I circled in yellow below and the hose I need is circled in red. Again sorry for the confusion and thanks for the help.
