Different question for fuel hose gurus...

My 1998 S70 GLT hoses are fine, no leak, but at 180K and 18 years young...I wonder if I should replace the fuel hose that runs from the engine (heat from exhaust) to the front of the fuel filter.

So:

1. Should I replace this particular fuel hose (from the engine to the front of the fuel filter)?

2. The Volvo OEM is expensive $262 for the complete package:

3. For those who have replaced this particular fuel hose, did you replace with generic fuel hose and do some McGyering thingy?

I know this is an old thread, but I know you're still on here cn90! Were you ever able to MacGyver this thing? I would imagine running a hard fuel line inside of a thicker diameter fuel line would probably be stronger than the VOLVO OE fuel line.
