Radio unplugged while battery attached

Post by Allynn35611 »

I very foolishly unplugged a component of the radio while the battery was attached. Now all lights are on, warning lights, car won't start. HELP!!!! I've disconnected the battery, but nothing helps.

Do not panic. Can you explain why did you want to unplug radio?
Text please more info about your car, like VIN for example.
What do you mean "car not start"? Starter is working?

The radio didn't work. I have another radio (factory) that I was going to try. I didn't end up trying it because it was exactly like the one that was already in the car. It had no cd player attached so it wouldn't work (I don't think). I plugged everything back in as it was, and tried to start the car. It wouldn't start at all. Lots of lights, and such. I finally thought that maybe the battery had been zapped by the radio mishap, so I jumped it off and it works now (or did earlier). I wonder now if I can buy a used cd player, put it in the car and make the radio work.

Also, when I drive it, it flutters like the transmission is messed up. Transmission guy said it just needed new plugs and possibly coils. Replaced plugs and it did just fine, for a few miles. Now it's back to fluttering again. Any advice?
