Many people don't know that brake fluid, by design, absorbs water/condensation and gets saturated with water as it ages. They claim it's 15% in 24 months. So in 48 months (4 years), it's probably 30%... What's it like if it has not be flushed or replaced in 10 or 15 years??? Bad stuff, boils fast and rust internal stuff.

Thanks for the info on refreshing the brake fluid, makes sense to me.

Anyone install these Centric Premium calipers from Rockauto? They look like they have a rust prevention coasting on them.

They are going to rust in the Northeast. It's entropy, man.

Save your money for tolls, get the Cardones, and keep sending us your city tax dollars to upstate...we need it up here more than you do...living like King and Queens..

Oh yeah, from Abscate's official advice book, a real gem

(28) crack the brake hose and bleeder screw before you loosen the caliper bolts on the frame. Much easier

Finally got the spring clip back on the replacement caliper and I was feeling really good about myself since all I had left to do was reattach the brake line. Aaaaand . . . I needed to reattach the brake line before I put the caliper before I put it back on, didn't I?

Yeah - all the way on until it is finger tight by spinning the caliper. But now you can take the caliper off quickly, because you are well-trained.

Give it a nip with the spanner after the caliper is mounted

Volvo torque spec for brake line to caliper Value=1 Unit= Nip
