how much power do i want this car to make?

Yes definitely more flow with the na throttle body acceleration is much quicker and more torque off the line but the other side of the turbo needs that downpipe to breathe with the intake pipe on the charge side being larger the downpipe also needs to be larger or you create a choking effect which generates excess Heat in the exhaust housing

Makes sense. I've always said that, too, you can't do half the job. With a turbo, the intake and exhaust go hand in hand, obviously. If one side is restricted, you're not helping much my opening only one side.

Like I said to him, if nothing else, it looks good in the engine bay! It sounds a little better (turbo is much louder), and it feels like there is a little better mid range power (not to mention a newly discovered boost spike to 16 psi on WOT pulls), but overall I don't think it was 5 horsepower. I'm still trying to decide if there is an actual difference in performance or it's just the placebo effect.

The debate on measurable power gains is a never ending one. Does the intake make a measurable gain? Probably not. But boost is crisper mid range like you said. And when coupled with the right tuning and somewhere for it all to escape (DP), then we can start asking how much power was gained. Ard website has opinions for all these mods when you purchase a tune from them... nifty huh?

I plan to get a tune with a some of these bolt ons eventually. I really like that ARD offers all those specific options, too.
