I have a 2004 that lacks all gears but reverse and first, so I suspect the transmission needs to be rebuilt. Looking thru all the forums about removing the engine to get at the transmission, I came across this post - viewtopic.php?f=11&t=63865#p329698
Would this method work on the T6? It would save some effort on full engine removal.
Changing T6 transmission while in car

There are several links within the link you posted so I don't know what method you are referring to.

The links (except the Youtube video) are about rebuilding the transmission. Most methods I have seen involve removing the engine and transmission, but not working on it while it is in the car (so no engine removal). That is the method I am curious about - whether the transmission can be worked on while it remains in the car.
