S40/V50 1,6d oil pan replacement

Hello.

I want to replace the oil pan of the 1,6d PSA engine with it's sunk drain plug with a modified one.
It it possible to remove the pan without removing the exhaust pipe and the catalyst?
What other hints are helpful?
