There is also an off-market version n eBay (that also fits DeLoreans???) for about $23 shipped. Look pretty similar, except missing it's "organic" sheen!

What's inside these things? Anyone have any experience using an aftermarket version?

$5 (or less) at the junkyard!

It is just a mechanical valve that closes due to gravity when you turn it upside down. I have opened one up but it was many years ago and I have no memory of what was in there ...
