My S80 has the "FIX TRANSMISSION NEXT SERVICE" warning light on. According to VIDA the only DTC stored in the TCM is TCM-0092 Solenoid PArk/neutral position (PNP) switch Signal too low. The transmission seems to work fine, Shifts good, starts in park and in neutral, manual shifting works fine.
I tried resetting the TCM but the fault comes back immediately so there still a fault in there somewhere.
I looked and couldnt find a PNP looking device externally on the trans and there isnt one. So doing a little google search it seems this might be actually related to the shift lock mechanism on the shifter. Further testing did lead me discover that indeed, I do not need my foot on the brake to move the shifter out of park once the key is turned on.
Does anyone have experience with this mechanism and do you think this could indeed be the cause of my code?
EDIT: Im pretty sure Ive solved this issue as my shift lock mechanism is in fact not working. I'll have to take the console out tomorrow and see if I can figure out why.

Problem solved and service light reset.
Apparently, the previous owner completely removed the park solenoid from the shifter. I went to a junkyard to see how the system was designed and it became clear how to fix it. Replaced the solenoid and ran VIDA to reset the TCM. Code didn't return. Glad it was so simple in the end.
