Sometimes I question the logic behind laws and such for us drivers. The new wave/age drivers just are scary dangerous behind the wheel. Got tagged in the rear and the damage ole volvo sustained may not cosmetically appear horrible but the underside pushed in enough to criple opening the hatch and broke an exhaust hanger. Thats a quick look.
Unfortunately no collision coverage especially with rates as they are for bare minimum coverage. Might be time to pull the wagon off the road. Suck part of it; have accumulated a lot of parts over the years and recently just picked up a spare engine and trans to start from zero miles.
It doesnt mean I wont lurk around. I'll still keep my eye out for a certain volvo. That's if they all dont fall victim to the irresponsible drivers we have today.
vvagon might be a goner

Didn't the person who hit you have insurance? Why should your insurance be involved?

Sorry to hear it, beigg... Glad to know you're ok.
I have noticed an uptick in bad drivers in NY and I wonder if it has something to do with Uber, Lyft, and prevalence of mapping apps. I have nothing against mapping apps, but folks using them all the time and not even considering driving without them is crazy. I would bet that most of those drivers spend a significant percentage of their driving time with their eyes on they're devices and not on the road. Not good for safe Volvo drivers...

Drivers, regardless of age, have too many distractions these days. It's not just map APPs, it is also that stupid screen in the center of the dash that controls everything: heat, radio, phone, display preferences, you name it! None of which can be modified without staring at the screen for at least 10 seconds.
Then, there are the rear blind spots. The rear windows are smaller, the rear window itself is smaller so a camera is required to back up the car. Some cars have small outside rear view mirrors in order to reduce 'drag', and now the cars have a blind spot indicator, which might work on rural roads but not in cities where there is just too much traffic.

Sorry to read that.
Btw., what exactly is a no fault state? The american law system is just too weird to understand for the rest of the world?..

I've noticed the driver's just dont known the etiquette let alone road rules that's poorly retained during driver's ed.
As unfortunate the situation may be, it lends the opportunity to experience other modes of transportation and we all have that bucket list of vehicles we someday hope to have acquired!

I asked my insurance agent, as no fault means different things in different states. If the other driver admits he was at fault, his insurance company will pay for the repair.
