pcv issue

Hi.
I was a bit to eager when I should remove the intake manifold. I forgot to loosen the small hose that sits on the left side of the intake manifold.This resulted in a broken hose. I have searched around the net but I can´t find only this hose. It only comes together with the PCV hose that goes to the oil trap. Is it possible to use an alternative hose to do the job, or am I bound to buy a new (rather expensive) "double" hose? If I can use an alternative hose, what should it be?

Hi and welcome.

If you could tell us where the hose is broken it's easier for the experts to give advice. When that is said, any rubber vacuum hose graded for oil can do the trick, just be careful to not let it kink where it has to make a U turn into the manifold (make this U turn as wide as possible). I forgot the inner diameter that I used in my '96 850 NA. You can relatively easy route a new one in without removing the manifold if you put that back on already.

Oh and type of engine, if not engine code then at least turbo/na can also help useful information to provide.

A little more information. It is a 2.0 engine with a low pressure turbo. I think this type is called B2054 T2. The hose I am talking about is 5 mm in outer diameter and 3 mm inner diameter. In both ends there are some wider rubber connectors. It is possible to take these off. If I go for a rubber vacuum hose, then I have to go for one with a larger inner diameter so that it fits the manifold. Will that be ok?

You should have no problems using a larger inner diameter hose than the one already on.
