S60 B5244S not starting

Post by chriskross02 »

Hi!

i have big problems with my S60 2,4 B5244S 170Hp DENSO sytem, the car was not starting anymore
in DTC i got the crankshaft sensor which i already replaced, the fault in DTC is now emty but the car not starting.

i already checked the timing belt it was replaced 30 000 km before the timing is correct on the camshaft and on the 2 crankshaft.

spark plugs are new, i get 3 bar pressure from my fuel pump.

I found out when i put external ground on the solenoid of the crankshaft the car is starting, and i can drive with it it has full power,
but when it has about 800 U/min car is not running well , and it missfire on all cylinders.

i also found out when i put off the camshaft sensor car also is starting after long time but car has no performance.

i thought maybe the fault from the solenoid is of a bad engine ecu so i already replaced it, but the fault is the same.

thanks

Chris

Ok, I will try to be helpful. Check thec12 V supply to the coils and see if that is the same as battery voltage.

I think you describe good running but poor idle? That can often be a vacuum leak, which also means bad starting.

the problem is car is NOT starting when the camshaft sensor is connected

when i put a external ground to the the CVVT intake camshaft adjust solenoid 8670421 then car starts and is working fine in the higher enigine speed 2000-6000 RPM/S also with connected camshaft sensor!

in engine idel it is misfire on all five clyinders.

i also checked the compression on all 5 cyllinders i have just 5 bar.

timing belt marks are ok, i also checked it on the other side of the cylinder head i can put in the special tool to lock the camshafts.

is it possible that the ccvt is damaged, is there a way how i can check it ?

Yours is not the first stripped crankshaft pulley. Actually this is about the 4th one I've read about on Matthews but I've been around here for quite a while. You're pretty fortunate it was only 2 teeth and good work finding the culprit.

Great thing is you don't have to go far to get a new one!!
