If the relay isn't sending voltage to the resistor pack, that's the root problem. You could use a fused wire to run battery voltage to the resistor pack to check that but that's hard to do disconnected if it's a single connector

Does one of the J relays in the fuse panel control any of that stuff?

The max fan relay is after the resistor pack. From what was described there is the appropriate battery voltage going into the resistor but not coming out of it. The blower resistor output is routed through the normally closed contacts on the relay and then the relay closes to a second, direct feed, from the battery to the blower for fan speed 4.

This would be real easy if I could post schematics but, since I'm a moderator, I can't without running afoul of the requests of the Volvo lawyers. Someone else can post the schematic but not me or another moderator.

Pulled the relay (left one of two to the left of the blower resistor looking from the seat) and found it burnt and bubbled at the front (engine side) terminal for the large red wire. The plug is burnt as well. I have ordered a new relay from IPD (backordered). Is there a way to check the terminal to see if it is still functional before I plug in the new relay? Hopefully nothing else is fried (or will fry) before I get the fan going again. Thanks in advance.

It was the fried relay for the blower. USPS was sending the critter back and forth across the country for a week! Thanks for all the help from all of you. Much appreciated!
