Which is the timing mark

Not sure which mark is the timing mark. How should be set both intake and exhaust have same marks.

For which Volvo? This blue thing is a hub and you have to adjust that too. I'll let others chime in.

The hash mark is the one that was put on the gear as the engine was set up and cam timing was set. Were the gears removed from the cams? If they were then the full set up procedure will have to be done. Tell us more.

The cam pictures is one tooth advanced. The other mark is usually the top cover's notches but the boss on the CVVT solenoid that is aligned with the tooth to the left with the 0 in its base is aligned with that boss as happens to be depicted in the photo.

So this post it's for friend. The water pump seized up and causing valves on most every cylinder intake and exhaust. They got a new head and the timing need set. And I'm not Milyer with this particular year so I thought I'd ask you guys for him.

This one is more complicated than just setting marks. Friend needs to slow down, put tools down and research the CVVT cam setting in various threads before he cooks his engine again.

The VVT means the cam moves with respect to the gear, so the procedure for getting it right is important.
