reinstall cruise cutout switch

After years of no cruise control I discovered that my cruise cutout switch is hanging in the breeze - yellow arrow in photo. No idea how this happened. Cruise worked at one point but, obviously, will not work this way. I may have other problems with cruise but this must be fixed. Spent an hour trying to reinstall the cutout switch in the bracket (red arrow) without any luck. It goes above (green arrow) the brake light switch (blue arrow). I just can't exert enough force in this cramped space. I'm afraid I'll break the brake light switch (blue arrow) (that works fine) if I try to remove that for better access. Not sure how to remove other panels, etc. for better access. I don't think that even removing the seat will really help.

Any suggestions for getting the cutout where it needs to go would be great - thanks.

I think I bungled mine as well due to extensive under-dash work working on the drvrs ECC air temp motor. My cruise no longer works. All was fine before. You'll have better access if you remove the metal knee bolster
