Flashing arrow

I've had no back up lights so I decided to take out the PNP switch and take it apart and clean it up. Now.. I have a flashing arrow which I didn't have before.
The car will start in park and neutral. Any ideas why the flashing arrow has come on ?

Move the control stalk on the left side of the steering wheel back to the center position.

J dawg. Your saying move the shifter to neutral ? I don't get what your saying control stalk ?

Anyway, it sounds like your PNP switch is misaligned if it was working perfectly before. I'm not familiar with that, but I'm sure others will chime in.

All you said was you had a flashing arrow... so he basically said to just turn off your turn signal!
