Weather stripping??

Post by IDriveSwede »

Is there a solution that doesn't involve buying $100 stripping from volvo? My 2005 S40 door body-side stripping is gone and needs to be replaced, any suggestions?

That's a specialized molding from Volvo. Tascaparts shows the OEM part http://www.tascaparts.com/volvo/v50/866 ... ition=left for $69.00, which doesn't sound too bad. (Left and RIght is different.)

Clearly, if you don't care what it looks like, you could do a redneck job with weatherstripping foam.

I've had several small tears in the weather-stripping that I was able to repair by CAREFULLY lining up the tears and dotting with super glue.
