Hi guys,
My rear speakers on my 1994 850 Sedan are real spotty right now - they usually work for about 2-3 minutes after I start the car, especially when I haven't driven it for a while. When I am driving a couple places each day, they just don't work period. After a couple minutes, they just seem to die down and if I put the fader in the back, the volume is noticeably lower, it crackles, then slowly dies out.
There are certain lucky occasions where they just work for 15 minutes straight, but they are rare.
I am not too savvy on all this wiring stuff, but I'm wondering what the problem may be and how to fix it as well. I don't want to spend a lot of money especially if it can just be fixed because I like the quality of sound a lot from the car, but there is no bass whatsoever without the back speakers.
Anyone has any advice at all, I would really appreciate it! Thanks a lot in advance.
Take care,

It sounds like your fader control is dirty. That can sometimes be cured by spraying contact cleaner into the fader knob slot and then exercising the fader control up and down a couple dozen times.

Sounds good - I will give it a try, see what happens, and let you know the outcome in 1-2 days.

Tried it, and it didn't seem like it was working - added a little more and I must have flooded it. It gave me a bit of a scare because the fader was full but the sound quality was as if the fader was at 50%.
Luckily I took it out and blew some compressed air all around it as much as I could and it went back to normal.
Any other suggestions that might clear up this problem?

Take the speakers out and inside see if the magnet on the tweeter has fallen off. I just found out about this. The glued on magnets fall off and the speaker wont work, its a known issue that few people know about. I found this out on Volvospeed. Ill bet this is the problem.
My rear speakers were not working and the problem was the magnet on both the tweeters had fallen off and it ends up on the cone and the cone cant move. I glued it back with a silicone rtv and everything works now. Let the silicone rtv cure for at least a day if this is the problem and you do what im saying.
Cheers
