Forgot to add, used Blue devil for a suspected rear main leak when running an 850 to California. Car had been sitting, but started leaking somewhere in Nevada after a hard drive. Filled with Blue Devil and by the time we got to California all was good and has not leaked again since. I look at the hope they help 'condition' an old seal, but don't really look on them to fix a pipe leak or 'O' ring type leak.

Also, do not break the oil cooler thermostat as they are now an obsolete part and only available used.

Thanks for all the tips i found my lines were leaking at the crimped part of the hoses on the bottom crimpings. Not sure if just one or both because it got everywhere so im gonna replace both lines just to be safe and not have to go down there again. new o rings and new oil thermostat gasket.

Also are the o rings on both sides of the lines? Or just at the oil thermostat?

Both ends have o-rings, of a sort. Each line has:

One standard o-ring at the thermostat.
One standard o-ring plus one seal plus that outer clip, at the radiator.

Check out Robert's video on replacing the lines, it probably shows what is on the ends.

How do you tighten those clamps down?

Can you clarify what clamps you are asking about? At the thermostat end, the bolt in the middle of the pipes at the front of the engine block, or the cooler lines at the radiator?

If it is the first one, it is a Torx screw between the 2 pipe at the oil cooler end that holds the clamp bracket which holds the 2 pipes into the thermostat housing.

Where the cooler lines connect to the radiator, I use one thick zip tie around the clip as extra clamping insurance. Has been bombproof.
