Me 2009 S80 , passenger side electric folding mirror ( with BLIS and memory ) folds and unfolds intermittently when remotely locking or unlocking the door. I can push it or pull it to make it work and it than works on the ( motor) input... I took it apart, all wires are attached. Can' get the centre piece out to check internal situation.
A) how does the folding, unfolding work, motor, magnetic impulses or how???
B) how do I fix it?
C) Is there a U tube video, or PDF instructions on disassembly ?

Most likely you need to replace the PDM (passenger door module) which is the entire passenger door window switch and attached controller.
Corruption in CEM software is also a possibility but far less likely.

Thks ....do u know what actually makes the mirror housing fold? Motor, or some electrical impulse on a coil, driving a gear mechanism??? I cannot find anything on line how this mechanically moves, nor can I c anything move inside the mirror housing. Have the mirror of the car on the bench and partialy dismanteld
