2006 XC90 V8 - Low Oil Level Warning - Check Engine

Just started to get a message "Low Oil Level" (Note: check engine triangle has also now lit up). I checked the oil and the level is slightly above the mid-range between full and low as indicated by the "xxxxxx" area on the dip stick. I will top it off and see if that resolves the issue but it would seem that either way the sensor is coming on prematurely. Has anyone had this issue and also if you needed to change the oil level sensor what is that procedure? Car runs fine and has about 135,000 miles on it.

On my 2007 S80 V8, the low oil level indication comes on when the level is at the low level on the dip stick.

Tested it at the 3/4 filled line... and the light came back on. I will test it at full mark and report back. Anyone have tutorial / instructions for XC90 V8 for replacing that oil level sensor if needed?

topped off light stays off. guess it is telling me to keep it full.
