Re: '98 S70 Jerky hesitation

After some checking, it appears my niece's husband had a shop change the fuel pump. So my difficulty has been in trying to fit a Bosch pump into a Walbro carrier assembly where neither the pump or inner assembly look anything like a Bosch. That's why I've ended up with a hack job I don't feel good about.

So I'm going to order a complete new unit for the S70 and save the Bosch pump for my 850 wagon which I know has an original Bosch in it.

What do you guys thing about a Delphi unit for the S70?

Also any guidance for getting the plastic cover off of the Bosch 69693 would be appreciated. I'm leery of Dremeling down the side for fear of cutting into the steel pump case. It also looks risky pushing up from the bottom (might bend the case?). Does anyone know the best way to get it off?

Lastly, thanks for bearing with my long tearful rap.

According to rspi, the complete fuel pump assembly is Bosch 69745, about $250 for this complete assembly.
Your other option is to go to local junk yard and get a fuel pump from an 850, S70, V70 etc. then install the new Bosch 69693 pump in it.

I was going to mention that, just pick up the assembly from the junk yard and drop your Bosch pump in that.

I ordered the Bosch 69745 assembly for $249. There is a '99 S70 in the Pull-A-Part but at this age the chance of the original having already been replaced by an aftermarket is probably about 50/50.

Also our home is in escrow and we are packing to move up into the pine trees, so my wife advised me I have too much to do to mess around with this much more. I just want to drop it in and be done. I'll save the Bosch 69693 for my 850 and hopefully when I have more time, fit it into its assembly which I know is Bosch OE.

Thanks all, for the advice.
