For the top nut usually it is sold with the strut so it was more of hassle to find the part number. I started on this page: viewtopic.php?t=39286

Then finally believed 985660 is the right part based on the IPD page: https://www.ipdusa.com/products/11482/1 ... nut-p80-p2

You can get it from a lot places with that part number. The Volvo part should fit the Bilstein strut properly, I'm not certain but I wouldn't hesitate to try. You can always pull one from the junkyard to be sure ... :)

Thanks for the info; I guess I'm confused as to what size nut I'm looking for. Excuse my ignorance, but I guess I thought if I was using a 22mm wrench to loosen/tighten the nut, it would be an m22. Is this wrong? I haven't been able to take off the existing nuts to see what the actual size is.

E.g. http://www.cwfasteners.co.uk/spannerandkeysizes.htm

14 mm is the bolt diameter, 22 mm is the bolt head diameter.

That's fantastic, thank you! I probably will be able to find it locally knowing that.

Technically it is an offset locknut, not just a nut, but I wouldn't sweat it too much going with a locally sourced, standard nut.
