VIDA Doorchime Error?? Ding... Ding... Ding... BANG!!!

I was playing around with VIDA for the first time last night and ran into something that didn't make a whole lot of sense.

I was in the DIM Owner settings, where you can set things like SRI, C/F, 12H/24H... and I found Doorchime On/Off.

Now I hate that ding ding ding with a passion... when I am doing things like, oh, I don't know, reading VIDA information for an hour!!! So of course I set about turning it off!

Unexpected Error.. Please contact Help Desk..blah, blah, blah. OK... try it again. Same error box. So I change SRI. OK. Change Time Format. OK. Change Doorchime. Error.

Are others getting the same error when attempting to change this setting? What's the deal? This was the only setting (other than trying to calibrate my DSTC and I'm pretty sure I know why that is failing) that I could not change.

Any one got an idea??

That door chime is a resilient one. Can't speak for Vida, but may want try this

If it something required by law then it can't be changed and the script message is usually something like "=null" or other meaningless message

Resilient in the way that it can be done it just takes a couple of hundred tries kinda way or resilient in the grabbing it with a pair of pliers and squeezing it till it pops like a pimple kinda way?

I can do either!! I was just bummed by finding a option that seemed to allow change until the Big Red Box popped up and scared me!! If they don't want you to change it, fine! Just don't tease me!

My favored fix for these in other equipment is layers of electrical tape to attenuate the tone. Works great and completely reversible. I just didn't think about it while I was in there... Cest la Vie!!

Hey Jimmy!

Yeah... that was king my thought, but it clearly says "Door chime=On / Door chime=Off" and lets me choose, but then flashes this Big Red Dialog Box with something about Unexpected Error... If the error persists please call the Help Desk... blah de blah.

Everything except the BCM (which has an issue) and the Door Chime programmed without and issue... it's baffling!
