98 v70xc boosting at 15 topping out at 20 psi.

What should my first step be to figure out whats wrong with it? Im using the torque app and the boost guage in there on my adndroid phone to find these readings. Is that accurate way to read boost?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but there should be no way a stock (or even tuned) 98 V70XC can produce 15, let alone 20 lbs of boost. Highest I've seen on mine is about 7-8 I think (no tune) with an actual gauge.

Ssshh. You are spoiling a perfectly good $500 turbo upgrade app in the App Store with a guaranteed 15 psi of boost demonstrated.

I agree. There is no way a 13G should be producing that amount of boost. Less than 10 on the LPT motor, as the TCV Volvo use is only rated to 12 psi.

Has anyone played with the TBV rod and screwed the threads way up to increase boost (or engine detonation if not careful). I think the first thing is to get a proper gauge on the turbo to see if the app is close or way off.

So i should install a proper ine furst to see if its accurate? Vould a vaccum leak produce high psi?

Nice set up! Where can i get a proper boost guage for 98 v70xc? Ipd boost guage doesnt fit my car apparently

I took my turbo actuator apart to test it. It seems to me that the diaphram in it is no good. It makes a squeaky noise when i pull the arm out and also doesnt open with any amount of pressure of air i put through it. Looking for a replacemnet one if anyone can help thanks a bunch

IPD carries an upgrade kit I have on my car , I'm sure the other vendors have stock replacements , too.
