green wire going into the alarm relais

Post by Clemens »

The other night I was feeling sassy and tried using my remote door lock on my 96 R (which i normally don't because I hate no start situations). It locked perfectly, but later wouldn't unlock anymore. After fiddling with relais 210 211 for a while it would start again. Then on the way home suddenly the alarm went off (horn diconnected fortunately) and at home I fixed the issue temporarily by removing the alarm relais and jumpering 50e 50f. As far as i k ow i can either drive that way or modify the relais to still have the remote working but disabke the horn, blinkers and starter interrupt circuit. What I am wondering though is: what is the green wire going into the relais? Could that be the windscreen glass break sensor? Any other drawbacks by permanently jumpering 50e 50f (except for no alarm which i will gladly ditch for start all the time even if the remote's battery is dead)

You can run forever with the jumper wire in place with no ill effects.

Forever sounds good to me. I don't need to run it longer than that.
