I decided to add a can of refrigerant to my ac system that was not very cold
Used the kit with gauge and a new can of refrigerant
The initial reading was under 30psi
I want it up to 45 to read as full on the green section of the gauge
After I added a full can the gauge reads over 40psi
To my surprise the compressor start to cycle rapidly 6 sec on 20 sec off and no cold air...
I was reading that if the ac system is overcharged it will do that
So I released some refrigerant back in the empty can until the pressure was 35psi
That is the optimum pressure 35(full) and not 45 psy as read on the gauge from the kit as many people believe
It may help you to solve the problem why the ac not working when full

There is good description of accurately determine charge level in the VRD.
THE gauges on cans are seldom accurate.
