For instance you can get just the housing for cheaper here: http://www.tascaparts.com/oe-volvo/31338685 and piece the hose, etc. together for a kit. Be aware though that Tasca is typically notoriously high on shipping, but they do run internet/coupon deals so look around. That said, FCP will price match...so piece your stuff together and then ask FCP to do just that. I've never had them turn down a legitimate request!

Yes, but the dealer is still going to charge you an arm and a leg. Be aware that with your VIN# they can check to see if it's under a recall and if it is, you're up for a free replacement including the labor. These were prone to leaking in air early on. I think they did fix them after several years though...this goes for all P1 cars (S40, V50, C30's and C70's).
