Well, I ordered a yellow sticker ETM off Ebay for $200 that had a build date of 2010 I believe and as soon as I plugged it in and turned the car on it ran horrible and I got the ETS light on. Re-installed the old one and car ran normal (as before) with no ETS light. Was able to take it on a 10 min. drive with a repeat of existing problems. Returning the used ETM. Going back to the power issue, the Alt test under full load at 13.7v and came back good. It will be a couple more paychecks to buy a new ETM. unhappy in VA :(

Have you measured the voltage drop on the B+ cable (the one from battery + to the fuse box)?

Could be better-- the output is temperature and load dependent, but I'd like to see 13.7-14.1V. So where are you measuring the 13.5V? I'm curious what you see at the back of the alternator (the big red wire). These cars are notorious for bad battery and B+ cables.

sorry, Ive been out of town for work. I ended up getting a used/rebuilt ABS module online and it got rid off all my dash lights except the constant lit up arrow, Not flashing. The hesitation seems to be gone as well but I've not taken a long enough test drive to confirm. In terms of power, I'm getting 13.85 at alt., 13.55 at battery and 13.35 at the power box where the fuse's are under the hood.

took a 20 min, test drive and no hesitation anymore. Tried rowing the gear selector about 2 dozen times but I still have the solid up arrow.

That's still a lot of voltage drop, 0.5 volts?

Yeah, that's what I thought. I'll bet that the battery and B+ cables get plenty warm after a short drive-- mine did with a substantially smaller voltage drop. I'd replace them and clean all the grounds at the same time.

Take the cover off the main kidney shaped fuse box in front of the brake booster. Look at the brass colored nut at the front of that attached to the 'B+" cable. If it is not bright and shiny then it is failing. This issues affects 99/00 models most. When I removed mine it had totally melted and could easily have shorted to ground. When that happens the worst case is the car will light up!
