I'm trying to locate a replacement part due to a garage over here throwing away a good part.
It is a heater regulator for a 1997, 940, 2.3T Volvo Part Number: 9447892
I can't get hold of this at all in the UK or Europe. There is another part but this does not allow the heater control to do a full sweep from cold to hot. It lets plenty of heat through, but when turned down to cold, the air is still very warm.
wondering if anyone out there can supply me one of those correct regulators? According to Volvo, the part listed above was only fitted to a couple of years of the 940, I believe it was from '96-'98.
Any help or advice on part availability or trying to set this regulator us is muchly appreciated.

From looking at parts listings, it looks like item ten.
Your part number was updated to 6848196, so Google around...still seems to be available in US

I did have an order in with them, but they have come back to me and said their stock is incorrect.

The new part number is a different part and is not compatible with the heating system in this car.whiteskies wrote: ↑06 Jun 2017, 02:42Thanks, I will continue to google and see if I can purchase one without breaking the bank balance!93Regina wrote: ↑02 Jun 2017, 19:01From looking at parts listings, it looks like item ten.

Here is a typical cable operated heater control valve. I don't know if you think the different cable mount orientation would work.
There are several 70's through 90's Toyotas that use cable control heat regulation valves.
I know nothing about your auto parts store choices but most here have the online catalog section with pictures they can let you look through if they are feeling like helping you. You may find an exact replacement or you may be faced with using a longer heater hose section in order to change the location of the heater valve if it is different.
