Help with inlet air temp sensor please.

Hi.
just finished the mammoth job of replacing the AC evaporator and heater core on our 1995 850.
Took a few weekends which included waiting for parts.

Today all reassembled and running except the AC which is yet to be gassed up.
However, On the clean air outlet of the filter box going to the throttle valve assembly is a small blue sensor. Its obviously an air temp sensor as I can see the small round thermistor inside through the 8 hole cage around it.

I cannot find the cable that connects to it. Truth is, I cannot remember disconnecting it but its been a few weeks so I'm not sure.
I removed the air box to get easier access to the heater and AC lines through the firewall.
Can anyone send me a photo of the cable going to it but more importantly for me - describe where its coming from? Which loom? The one running alongside the battery, does it come from around the ABS unit, does it come up from around the auto transmission somewhere, does it come from the engine block perhaps?
I'd appreciate all help to find this elusive cable and its connector.

Is there any chance that in some countries its not used and not connected?

Would you post a photo of the blue sensor?

As stated, I know its an air temp sensor. I've looked at countless *50 google photos and can see its always connected. What I cannot find in my engine bay is the cable and connector that belongs to it. I've had the air box out several times looking for anything that would reach and connect to it but there's nothing.
If Volvo decided it wasn't needed in Australia for some reason, surely they would have a plastic plug in there instead of an unused sensor.
The car is a one owner and the owner is my wifes aged godmother, so we know no-one has tinkered with the car. Its so dead original it could almost be sold as a new car.

It is a 10v car.
U.S market didn't had them.
I would suggest you to visit www.volvoforums.org.uk since they have a plenty of them.

If it isn't I'm sorry, but I tend to be one of those that tucks all the harnesses when I work on things...

Thanks but no. Its just a lead with slight excess length and its clipped to something down beside the battery platform.
