Turbo surge

Post by Tobster »

Hi everyone I'm a newbie
Want to thank this site for all the information on repairs, how to do, and information on quality parts.
So I have a 95 850 t ,never would have expected to do what I have done to this car until what I learned from this site.
I started out with ARD stage 3 blue tune, 18 psi, upgrade ecu to 4.4 and greens. R manifold, ipd 3'' down pipe, ipd cat back, fuel pump and regulator upgrade, silicone hose kit, reman. 18t, aem boost and wideband gauges in ipd a pillar mount.
The car was so much fun to drive, big smile everytime going into boost. So I decided to a drop do88 intercooler, rip kit,3'' ipd turbo intake house, ipd hd tcv, ipd hd cbv, and mototec/eurosport ultraflow air intake with dry filter.
To my amazement ,not sure if spending all that extra money was gonna pay off in performance, but it did,the car really came alive, but where befor I was struggling for 15 to 17 psi of boost ,and steady, to now anything over 16 is out of control up to 21 psi bouncing all over. So that's my only real problem thankfully, if someone could give me some advice on that I would appreciate it.
Oh and last thing, I need year ,model ,engine size to get na intake and throttle plate.
Thanks again everyone, MVS RULES

Newbie here again, I had not got any responses on my question, so watched some IPD youtube and ended up changing cbv spring to I believe a 14 pound red, I may be wrong on that, then turning in wastegate one full turn and seems to be doing good, ill know more this weekend when I can get away from traffic.

Thanks matt, I finally reached a happy medium, 20 psi boost, the tune is for 18 but everything is so smooth right now I haven't touched it. I really been easy on her, the weather in florida so hot I don't like pushing it. I would like to have water meth injection for this climate but a decent kit that reads the motor operating values are expensive, maybe in time, thanks again

Well with a 95 it has a physical throttle and linkage, so you could rig up a water spray system based on throttle cable positioning at wide open. I don't know if anyone's done this.
