Cruse issue

Post by raykan »

for awhile my s70's cruise control is not fully functional. sometimes i can set it up, sometimes I cannot. However today, I realized something strange.
I set it up onto certain speed, and whenever I pull the driver side window button, the cruise control got cancelled. I replicated the issue multiple times, but only happened when I was closing the driver side window, as soon as I pulled the button, cruse got cancelled.

any thoughts?

thank you in advance...

Are the cruise control and the power window on thw same circuit/fuse? If not, try pulling the power window fuse and see if this still happens.

In any case, check the vacum lines for the cruise control and the cruise control switch as well as the power window switch for a short.

I have found couple more symptoms related to cruise issue.

if my headlights are on, cruise control is not engaging at all. i cannot set it up.

when i keep headlights off and I can set the cruise control. However it cancels itself when I use some of electrical pieces. such as closing driver side window, and any sunroof operations.

now the remote doesn't work. I thought it's battery, so replaced it but still no hope.

not sure what will the next one :)

p.s. I did check fuses
seems: the fuse 29 controls: cruise and

and sunroof related ones:
35 Instrument lighting, accessories, power sun roof 10 A
36 Rear auxiliary socket, power sun roof 15 A
37 Power windows, power sun roof AUT/CB (vThis is an automatic circuit breaker located in the fuse box and does not normally need to be replaced.)

still open recommendations.

Test the battery cables and the power cables running to the fuse box. One source of discontent will be voltage drops in the power circuit that manifest themselves when you turn on the large electrical loads like headlights.

just want to share that I found the issue.

all those anomalies were happening because of brake light bulbs. While back, the dash were showing brake light issue, and at that time I moved back/forward the bulb (left) and it started to work. Later warning came back, this time it was the right one. However after i fiddle with it started to work fine.

This weekend, decided to check them and their internal shaped was changed, replaced them and everything is working fine. here are the photos of the light bulbs.
