Pop sound when opening door

Pop sound when opening door

2008 S60 2.5T 170k miles

When I open the driver's side door, there is a loud pop sound coming from the hinge area. Looks like it's probably the door check strap. Any suggestions on how to replace? Do I need to remove the door panel? If so, sounds like a pain.

I don't know the '08 cars but a couple of times a loud pop noise from the hinge was solved by simply tightening a loose bolt which held the door's limiting strap to the jamb. Hope this helps. Kira
