Greeting fellow Volvo owners
Well it's summer once again and AC problems show up .
A/C compressor disengages during acceleration from stop and at speeds above 2000 rpm, it kinda acts like when it gets to higher rpm, pressure increases then turns off compressor, will not re-engage clutch automatically returning to lower speed, will only re-engage after turning it off manually on control panel, and bellow 2000 rpm, normal cruising speed. No issue at idle, gets cold like it should . Receiver/dryer new...
450k miles on compressor, previous issue compressor or system, would disengage only on right turn only, otherwise worked great. That's what prompted replacing the receiver/dryer .
Any help appreciated before buying new parts...
p.s. could somebody please tell me where is the expansion valve is ! 99 s70 base, front wheel drive.

The Volvo AC uses an orfice in the line right in front of the engine ( right side of engine compartment) rather than an expansion valve.
Check charge pressure with a real manifold gauge, cans of Freon with a dial with numbers on them don't count.
It's a big commitment of material to service AC so taking it tog a specialist often makes more sense. Scan the repair Forum for good Volvo people in the Hot-Lanta area.
The sled makes the note above that your AC is controlled by the ECU, unlike the pre 1999 cars, there is a lot. More control stuff going on to worry about
