850 Volvo Excessive Fuel ??
I was told that the fuel pump was replaced 2 months ago , I just replaced the fuel pressure regulator and injectors and seals , plugs .. Seems like I can still smell fuel in the engine compartment , oil smells like gas has been introduced into engine . Reason guy got rid of the car was to much fuel ... Is this possible ?? Thinking it is , not sure what to do except do all the steps again .. Is it possible that the fuel pump that was put in is pumping to much ??? He stated that he wish he could have kept the pump for his race car .. But it is still in tank / stock location ... Thanks !!!! Any help is Appreciated ..

Nope....injectors are getting how much they need and the rest is going back into the tank via return line.
BUT,the engine might run rich,or injectors are leaking....that's why your oil smels like gas.

Investigate the EVAP system. Purge valve or cracked return lines.
The purge valve on my 98 is on the radiator shroud, with a thick line heading towards the canister at the rear of the car.
Some 850's have the EVAP canister tucked inside the left fender. Likely source of fuel vapors.
