SRS Control Module

Post by gametec »

I have a 2000 s80 and the passenger rear tire blew and caused the curtain air bag to deploy
and now the car wil not even START.
I have an Autel eu702 and checked the codes as follows:

SRS:
0123 intmd Control Module Internal Fault
000D intmd See service manual
D100 intmd See service manual
0029 intmd Pass Airbag stage 2 Low

I have replaced the rear crash sensor and new passenger curtain airbag but the codes will not reset and says
because their still remains a fault. I cant find any other info on the 2 codes that say see service manual.

I have tested the seatbelt pretensioners and they check 2.2 Ohm and should be ok.

So I'm guessing maybe the SRS control module is bad?
if so can I buy one from junkyard or does it need be reprogrammed by dealer?
I know some models do but think I read the 2000 s80 does not.

Any help will be greatly Appreciated!!
Thanks

Can your EU-702 read the SRS module software part numbers?

If not it may be offline/faulty. Usually SRS modules between similar years/models are compatible as the software is simple and usually not part of an update at the dealer.

In your case, better if you use DiCE and VIDA for check status your system.
If you have some accidents lock status for fuel pump, you need reset this.
Also, if you have old version SRS module (8622187, 9472939, 9472941) and you have Control Module Internal Fault error, I think nobody can help you reset this stuff. Likely, best way for you replace SRS module to more new version and program it special FW. (for this case should replace plastic collar for SRS connector also).

Car still will not start and cant here fuel pump run?
Don't know what else to do but strike a match to this POS.

Sorry I don't understand but why will that help? If I can read srs codes.
srs-00d0 from what I have read is driver seat buckle
srs-0001 is srs module fault
So is new module also bad or will need be reprogram by dealer.
I have read where they have to be program by dealer do you know if this is true?

wish I could bypass the fuel shut-off some way and So I could drive to dealer.
I live over over 100 miles from nearest dealer and is High tow bill.

Thanks

ok I crossed the fuel relay just to see and car will start perfect.
So I know the ecu is not letting fuel relay kick on.
I have 1 question before I drive car to dealer.
I replaced the srs module under console with one from junk yard.
Does this module need be programmed to the car by dealer?
If not maybe srs module I got was bad also and can just order a known good srs module.

Thanks for any help...

You need DiCE for check status your system (not status your SRS only).

Ok so dealer is telling me that they cant program the used SRS airbag module
and my old one has internal fault. They are saying I will need to buy a new
module at $750. Can anyone tell me whether this is true or not.
I will probably scrap the (pos) before spending that much on it..
But that's stupid because car runs great.
