Heating window washer fluid?

Is there such a thing as heated window washer fluid for a volvo 850/v70?

Every winter I seem to have frozen window washer fluid.. And I have seen lesser cars wich had either heated lines or fluid..

We put alcohol in our washer fluid here - Dutch beer seems to be a favourite as no one likes it.

Don't think so. But you can build one, should be fairly easy. You just need something like a fush tank heater that runs off 12V.

i can't recall if I am correct, but by wife had a 1999 Audi A4 2.6. I think it had heated windshield washer jets. Don't recall it ever having an issue even at -40C and below.

Bmw and VWs both have heated washers, but they are both from this Millennium

I think you get very slight snow in Holland with temp rarely below 0 deg C.

In the US, where temp gets below 0 deg C, auto parts stores sell windshield washer fluid good down to - 30 deg C. This is done by mixing water with ethylene glycol to depress the freezing point.

Heated nozzle is a different issue, some cars have it and some don't.

The best approach is:
1. Use washer fluid appropriate for your climate.
2. Heat the windshield glass, this will prevent frosting when fluid is sprayed onto it.

Well, here in Minnesota where it gets cold we just buy washer fluid designed not to freeze, at least down to -30 F / -34C. They must sell something similar in Holland? I must be sick because I've heard this commercial on the radio so many times the jingle is forever stuck in my head:

Heineken is actually far from the worst beer here, but that just means we have some really , really bad beer.



I don't think heated nozzles came on P80s, maybe P2s with cold climate packages?

Allthough I am originally dutch and live in holland I spend a big part of my life in Hungary because of a family holiday house. Basicly all holidays or free moments I have, we load up the car and drive it there in the middle of the night. Driving through entire germany and Austria. In the winter that can be a cold trip.
Last winter we had -16c with heavy northern winds, ice rains and snow. Whole of lake balaton froze up. And even the danube got icy. Which is quite rare for such a fast flowing river. Exactly the day we drove back home was the worst.
Of course I used washer fluid with anti freeze from the store, but it still froze.
Probably still had some water in it combined with very cold wind temperatures...
I did get very well trained in sticking behind cars that put up a lot of water to clean my window with.
Tourbusses do very well! And drive a lot faster than most cars on snowy highways. Double bonus.

That is not correct. Holland got a lot of under 0 Seen a lot of ice and snow here in my time with long a cold winters. Big lakes freezing up. people skating on the streets.
Though last few winters have been quite soft, yes.

My mothers golf 3 has simple heated jets. My '82 benz has some system to keep the fluid warmer.
Too bad volvo didnt bother then.
Meanwhile I read the end 2000 volvos do have heated jets. So they came to their senses!
Maybe it can be stolen and put on ours.
There are also some aftermarket kits.
Just hoped on something plug and play form a v70 or so.

There is a saying here. If you drink Hertog Jan, you will piss heineken.
