Just became a double Volvo guy!

Post by GaryB1 »

Hi all, I'm from Austin Texas and bought a 2008 V50 to replace my Saab 9-2x three weeks ago after it was totaled. I'll be working towards a Stage 0 because it came with no service records. Luckily our mechanic restores Volvos as a sideline because Saturday, I had one of those, "Guess what?" moments. My wife came home and said she had bought a car for our soon to be driving son. I went to look and it is a very tired 2000 S70.

The V50 has so far been great. My wife named it Olaf. I've got to do the TB and water pump soon even thought it looks okay. The place I bought it from had detailed everything including the engine, so I can't tell how old the TB is. There is a place where a TB change sticker might have been, but I'm not willing to take that chance. It's soooo shiny under the hood, Armor All everywhere! The 2000 S70 is currently in time-out until it decides to behave. It's going to be a long term project.
