SIL was driving back from Indy in the 2000 V70 XC when he started hearing a click, click click coming from the left front. He stopped into a national chain repair facility and was told the left CV was failing. They quoted $850.00 to R and R the axle. Believing the CV is a progressive failure and the axle is less than two years old I told him to come home. What I found was the foreword heat shield had come loose rubbing against the drive shaft. Two sheet metal screws and car is fine.
I have heard of rip offs but this really take the cake.
Click click click goes the Cv, or does it?
