I was getting the Black wagon on the road today after getting it respectable in appearance with a new door and rear bumper from a '99. It looks good!
So I had done an oil change, and a trans drain and fill..
It had been sitting for a year and a half. Not too long.
After less than a mile or so, leaving a stop light, about two blocks out the trans started to slip and then completely disengaged. No further forward motion in any gear.
I checked the fluid level and it seemed full at the cold level which would be appropriate after a mile of driving.
Pulled trans codes on OBD I ("94) gave a missing speed sensor error?
Towed it back to the house I plan another drain and fill tomorrow.
At a loss.
Did not have issues before the drain and fill.

Yesterday I had a chance to get to my storage unit and pulled a "Sport-Economy-Winter " Switch from the original console out of my '93 GLT.
Along with clearing the set code and did another drain and fill.
The fluid must never have been drained bfore so I think the first one was a bit of a shock to the system. After that short drive it still came out smelly and dirty. I imagine mostly from what was left in the torque converter.
Good News. Forward Motion!
Not sure which was the culprit, but it may have even been the fluid level that had set that code.
