Well... I posted the review several days ago, and there are "no reviews" for this particular product. I'm not claiming a conspiracy, but I'd say that's rather suspect.

I can't be the only one thinking it, so I'm going to say it:

What good is a lifetime warranty to a dead driver?

This sounds terrifyingly unacceptable...
A steering rack HAS to be A-1 !

While your humor is actually funny and I have been laughing, the issue here is the quality of many aftermarket and re-manufactured parts (especially safety critical) are woefully poor and there does not appear to be any comeback on this.

I love FCP and there are many other suppliers out there, but I would be making a big stink about this with FCP and Cardone as you could have been killed by this. They need to do a diagnostic on the part and figure out what went wrong.

I wish you luck and do not envy your work ahead. I chicken out and give the job to the dealer and have paid up the ridiculous price of the OE re-manufactured part as I don't have the want to tackle this job or a swaybar replacement. If you have not done the swaybar, it is worth considering replacing it while in there as Murphy's Law is it will fail shortly after you swap out the rack.

I had the exact same experience with a Cardone rack from FCP. True, I got warranty credit for it, but never again with a Cardone rack. I got an Atlantic Enterprises (I think) rack from EEuroparts (?) and it has been fine, but the Cardone rack was a disaster and could have resulted in serious personal injury. If I were FCP, I'd seriously be rethinking stocking those racks.

Also, I have had the experience where a truthful, though negative, non-profanity laced review could not be posted to FCP's reviews.

I still do a reasonable amount of business with FCP and have found them generally quite responsive on warranty-related issues. Plus, I don't know who offers a better warranty. . . .

For what its worth, I searched for steering racks on FCPs website for my 1996 850 and a 1999 V70. The cardone rack wasn't listed for me, only a "Maval" brand. Maybe they took it down while they look for an alternative supplier?

I stand corrected. I was searching for "steering rack". Which only yields the "Maval" brand. Searching for "Rack" gives all the steering racks. That Maval brand does not have a very good review and its only a month old. I wonder what is taking your review so long.

My guess is that they won't post the negative review. A couple comments above this, "E Showell" said they did the same thing to him.
