06 XC90 V8 Unidentified Part - Valve body Removal

Post by cuhfs »

Help needed. Don't know where these are from. I removed the valve body from the transmission today to have it rebuilt. As I was removing the final bolts I heard. something hit the ground  . See pics. I do not know where these came from I assume they fell when the valve body shifted position during removal. Please advise where these "pins / rods" are from. Where do they go? They are about 1 inch long and 1/8 inch thick see pics.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I don't know if this is any help, but see the first picture (slightly past midway under the "TF-80SC; AF-40/AM6" section):

I see several similar looking pins laying on the valve body. They appear to be holding pins - I would imagine you can work backwards - identify ones with pins still in and then looking for those holes where they are missing.

I know nothing about this transmission, but this looks like a good approach.

That explains why it wasn't shifting too well.
