2002 Volvo V70-XC Cross Country Fuse Location

Post by EinsteiN69 »

Hi

I have bought a 2002 VOLVO V70-XC CROSS COUNTRY - has a few minor problems that I am going to repair as I have the money, otherwise it's a great car.

My question is related to the location of the fuse that powers the engine cooling fan, and I would also think that it powers the drivers electric seat. The reason for my asking is that I had a mechanic attend to a fan related problem on the car and he accidently shorted the wires to the body. After that there was no power to the fan live wires nor the drivers electric seat I have checked all the fuses in all 3 locations (engine compartment, drivers side next to the dash and at the back of the car) and no fuses are blown. This is a mystery and also a very important fuse as my fan is not functioning presently and the drives seat is sitting in an awkward setting and difficult to drive like that.

Please can someone assist me?

It is worth to pull the fuses and circuit breakers and testing them with an ohmeter to make sure they are ok - it is easy to miss a break which you can't see.

We don't host the wiring diagrams on MVS by an agreement with Volvo, but they are public on the web - you start troubleshooting by finding the 12V feed to the non-working component and work backwards to the battery!

That's RSA isnt it? Welcome - its great to see people from far away on the Fora! Ive been there years ago when I was involved in high end metallurgy.

Its in the owner manual, if you don;t have one, its online.
My car is 2004 so it might be different but take a look anyway.
For power driver seat, Fuse #3 located to the left of the steering wheel.
