2003 T6 Door Latch R&R

So, the Pass Door lock (electrical function) stops working, but all mechanisms are ok. I am thinking the latch module at fault - it includes the electrical door lock/unlock function in one integrated unit. Ok, so with door panel removed and the 3 @ T30 FH screws holding the latch, this should be a piece of cake. NOT so fast! With the 3 T30's out, sure the latch unit in there rattles around, but is not going anywhere. There's the window guide rail smack in front of it; the bottom of this rail is riveted (?!?) to the door. Almost impossible to see in there and so cannot see where the top of this rail attaches... let alone how. Can deal with drilling-out the lower rivet, but what other surprises await?? Has anyone ever tackled this job??
