VVT VANOS EXHAUST 2.4T SW can pulley be interchanged

Post by volvo v70 »

Hi, new here. V70 2.4T SW 147 KW.

My repair guy says my vvt exhaust pulley is rattling and needs changing. I took off the plastic covers and i can see that some oil is leaking from somewhere around the pulley, looks like the main seal for camshaft behind pulley. Also sometimes i can feel the engine perform strange, lower power etc. There are no codes showing relating to camshaft, pulley, vvt etc.

I want to change it, however not sure if any vanos exhaust pulley is fine or should i get exactly the same number. My pulley number is 1275363.

Contacted some salvage yards, several guys are saying that doesnt matter what number pulley i use.

Anybody has experience with this? Can those vanos units be swaped around?

Thanks a lot.

Svieks...

I think the two pulleys, intake and exhaust, are different, so get the right part number.
