I am new to Volvo and to this forum.
2001 S80- engine light constantly on. But the folks at Valvoline Oil change shop could not find an error code displayed on their analyser. Does anyone have any idea as to what can be causing this?
Could the analyser not be the correct type or malfunctioning?
The battery tests Ok according to them. It has a new rating of 800 CCAmps and it tested at 626 CCAmps. Could this cause the engine light to be on without generating a code?
Thanks
Engine light but no error code found

Which light is on? Can you post a pic? It may be a service light and that will not throw a code. Other than that try a different scanner.

Could the fact that there is a missing fuel door lock mechanism create this situation? The cable/ connector is just hanging out inside the trunk trim cover.
I will try to find someone with a different code scanner and search the local salvage yards for a replacement fuel door lock
- good exercise at least.
Thanks
