2006 t2.5 xc90 wouldn't start quick fix

My 2005 t2.5 XC 90
wouldn't start today the battery was sufficiently charged and I was thinking the worst.
I called the RACV (road side assist) . He tried to give me a jump start but when I turned the key I could hear one of the relays click once but the engine didn't start. He told me to try again only this time he tapped the starter Relay with a metal rod and it sprang into life . he said I would probably have to replace the starter in the near future and possibly the battery. I just thought this might be helpful as a quick fix to anyone else with the same problem.
